Forte Medical wins prestigious Backed By Doctors Award
Medic Footprints event backed by Doctify and Hale House, part of the Harley Street Health District

At an event held at Hale House this month, over 100 GPs gathered for an evening focused on innovation in Healthcare, suported by the Harley Street Health District and Doctify.
Medic Footprints, founded by Dr Abeyna Jones, works to help doctors expand their careers and introduce them to innovation that will help engender and build best practice in Primary Care, Prenatal and Acute settings.
The winner, voted by the audience and with unanimous approbation from the five GP Judges, was Forte Medical with Peezy Midstream, an innovation for women’s health conceived by Dr Vincent Forte, a GP of over 20 years.
His device is designed to collect an accurate midstream sample. This reduces false positive rates of dipstick tests in the clinic and mixed growth in the lab, in turn reducing prescription of “best guess” broad spectrum antibiotics helping to meet AMR ambitions, increasing the prescription of clinically indicated antibiotics, reducing delayed diagnosis, and the need for retests with all their additional cost and massive inconvenience to patients. Peezy Midstream promotes:
– Precision analysis, diagnosis and targeted prescribing
– Reduced retesting and risk development of chronic conditions
– Hygiene and dignity: clean hands, clean loo, clean floor – essential for private providers
– A 66% saving on lab spend shown by a Public Health Wales GP study
Testimonials made on the night and on social media:
Judge Dr Ian Morrant:
“This is something I can pick up and use in my surgery tomorrow and make things better for patients and my practice. I’m always embarrassed to give a woman the small containers we use and we really do need to focus on the problem of prescribing so many antimicrobials.”
Dr Abeyna Jones, Medic Footprints Founder:
“I can’t believe this isn’t gold standard for MSU yet.”
Dr Rajvir Singh:
“I’m excited to see the impact Peezy Midstream will have for women’s health, primary care and beyond.”
Dr Craig Wylie:
“As a practising GP I can 100% see the immediate applicability of your product in primary care and care home settings. I was sitting with a care home owner and we were both nodding our heads like Churchill dogs in the back seat of cars!”
Peezy Midstream is available on the NHS Supply Chain and through Mediq.
