When Professor Frank Chinegwundoh, Consultant Urological Surgeon told us of a routine 23.5% urine specimen contamination rate in his clinic at the Royal London Hospital, we asked if he would like to see if Peezy Midstream would lead to better outcomes. His interest was piqued and in total 66 patients provided samples as part of a Quality Improvement Audit.
Laboratory managers at Barts and the Royal London NHS Foundation Trust ran the numbers twice; the first outcome was too good to be true. But the second confirmed a urine specimen mixed growth reduction to 1.5%.
Professor Chinegwundoh recounts his Peezy Midstream evaluation experience on Fab NHS Stuff.
